Below is a few Frequently Asked Questions About Funerals

Since most people try to avoid the topic of funerals, cremations, death, and dying, when faced with it they don't know what to expect. Below is a few questions that I am asked as a funeral director.

Should I bring young children to the funeral.

Please note that I am not a councelor nor do I claim to be an authority on child behavior, because each case is different, however it has been my experience that yes you should bring them to the funeral, especially if its the funeral of a family member. Children grieve differently than we do, but they need to know (in my opinion) that their loved one simply just didn't come back. It really hurts to see a child crying, but I personally believe it will help them as it helps us adults to go through the stages of the grieving process. Here is a great article on the subject http://www.dougy.org/grief-resources/kids-and-funerals/

What Is The Difference Between a Memorial Service and A Funeral Service

It's quite simple really. At a memorial service the body is not present, at a funeral service the body is present.
