Can I Buy a Casket online for a funeral?

In the past decade or so, there have been several websites where the general public are able to purchase caskets online and have them delivered to the funeral home at a considerable discount over the ones offered at the funeral home.
While buying a casket online may seem like a smart move to make when it comes to saving money, there are several items to consider.
WHEN WILL IT ARRIVE?
Usually a funeral happens withing a few days of a death, especially if viewing of the body is planned. When ordering online, what guarantee does the website offer that the casket will arrive in time, and when it does arrive, will it be damaged in shipping?
WARRANTY
Find out what kind of warranty the site is offering for the casket, there are certain warranties that the major casket makers have and scrutinous testing that goes into quality control. You don't want a casket handle to fall off while the pallbearers are carrying it or even worse the weld to break at the bottom allowing the deceased to fall through! Some funeral homes will require you to sign a disclosure releasing them of liability if you buy a casket somewhere besides the repuatible companies they have contracts with.
WILL IT BE WHAT YOU ORDERED?
When the casket arrives, will it match what the picture portrayed on the site? A benefit of walking in to a casket showroom at a funeral home is that you will be able to actually see what the casket will look like.
In my experience, it has always been more of a hassle on a family to order their own casket, than to have the funeral home handle it. You may get the funeral home to drop their price a bit if you hint to them that you are considering ordering a casket online, because more likely than not they would rather discount the price of the casket than to lose the sale altogether, especially since it will come from their trusted casket supplier.
